Them Journal Q's

  1. In all honesty I think my WP2 went really good. I was happy that I was able to tie-in the course readings more this time than I did for WP1. I was also happy that I was able to keep my paper at six pages and not go over. I wasn’t really happy that I wasn’t able to point out more “moves” of features because I would take quite a few lines for analysis.
  2. One comment that helped me was if my thesis passed the argument test. When I went over it I saw it didn’t, so I went back and changed it and geared more to my paragraphs. Another comment that also helped me was that my introduction paragraph was repetitive and drawn out. So, I went back and changed some of the sentence or in some cases scrapped them all together. These were helpful because they helped with the flow of my paper in my opinion.

  1. I totally feel you on the including more moves but not going over board on the pages, that was really hard for me too. I tried just concentrating on one specific move from an article that I felt really worked. I definitely got some comments on the flow of my paper too that really helped on connecting everything together and like you said improve the flow. I am glad you worked on your thesis successfully.

  2. Props to you for being able to keep a decent page length, especially since this prompt was pretty complex! Yeah, I definitely wish I had talked more about moves, but I felt like there was so much other stuff that I had to address...I feel ya about the intro paragraph; I think it's important to have a solid, concise intro to keep the reader interested. Anyways, glad you felt good on WP-2!
