Thlog#2

This week in writing was hectic. First we had our project builder 1B which was due on Wednesday. It wasn’t that hard at first since we just had to look at the genre generators and explain their conventions. However, when I started to find conventions it became more difficult because there was so many. Eventually, I just chose the main conventions for each one and then explained them. The main focus of this week however, was my WP1. Choosing the genre and topic wasn’t hard at all but writing the paper definitely was. I had to be sure to properly describe the genre, more specifically sub-genre, I chose to use. After this I, had to analyze the rhetorical features of each piece, which was hard because I had to make sure to point out features that showed the piece belonged to my selected genre. After this, I then had to say similarities and dissimilarities between the pieces and how they hint towards the genre. This was fairly simple since each of the pieces followed the basic conventions of the genre. The dissimilarities were also simple, because each writer has their own style and different biases. The works cited page was annoying mostly because I had to search for all the information but then EasyBib.com came to the rescue. It made my job way easier. The only trouble I had with it was trying to find the citation for the the pieces from our course reader which come from writing spaces.  That’s what I did this week for Writing 2.
